About Me

My name is Amy Mcleod and I am currently studying for an MSc in Social Science of the Internet at the Oxford Internet Institute, University of Oxford.

I am interested in the ways in which technology can be used to improve society. For my MSc I am concentrating on how technology is used to support learning in both formal and informal settings.

I have a background in journalism and website production. At the University of Warwick I developed a website to communicate the university’s research to a wider audience. At the BBC I did research and development for several teams in both the science and current affairs departments. At that time I was particularly intersted by how BBC iPlayer and social media were changing working practices.

I graduated in 2008 with a BA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics also from the University of Oxford.
